Hi, I am Abby, a 12-year old 7th grader at Solon Middle School. I reside in Solon, Ohio with my parents and siblings. I  started drawing when I was three years old, and have been passionate about art ever since.  I love drawing, painting, writing, playing the piano and violin, and playing tennis.
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that started in March 2020 poses tremendous challenges to everyone as schools were closed and we were under quarantine at home. It is during these unprecedented challenging times I become passionate about acrylic painting.  I have done more than 200 acrylic paintings since the pandemic began last March, and those colorful canvases are taking over my parents' house. It started off with painting my favorite horses and fairies, then I began to paint pictures for family and friends far and close to bring them love, care, hope, and joy. Unintentionally, I become the art ambassador on behalf of my family.
When I paint, I like to personalize each project I put my heart into to bring joy and happiness to those I love and care about. I sent paintings of teddy bears and 'joy' themed floral wreaths to family friends with newborn babies. I mailed the hummingbird's picture in vibrant green to bring hope to a very sick friend. I depicted a floral-themed wreath to comfort and encourage a friend who lost her loved one. For our neighbors who were quarantined at home, I painted "Birds chirping in a cherry blossom" and "Beach and palm trees." I painted and mailed the personalized dog portraits for my friends’ dogs. My mom helps me with all the arrangements. She also sent custom calendars full of my beautiful artworks to brighten the lives of our family and friends across the country.
Art is my calling — it makes me happy and complete. We can still fully devote our energy and be persistent in whatever we are passionate about despite the pandemic, to me that is the strength of humankind and the silver lining of the pandemic. I wish to use my talent and passion in acrylic painting to share my dreams, hopes, love, warmth, and joy with the world. It is my sincere hope that you find joy, cheers,  hope, and inspiration in my paintings.
